BOARD SUMMARY

Members have been volunteering for several projects within the Villages:

• There’s been some interest in a yard sale. Having such a sale within the Villages is not allowed due to the damage that can be caused on our roads and parking on the sprinkler heads. If there is enough interest, and a volunteer to head up the project, we may be able to have a Village Yard sale using Lions Park.

• Marilyn Vogel is beginning work on an all-member directory.

• Ray Goff, Common Areas, has been grinding tree stumps and making plans to seal coat some of our roads this summer.

• John Jaso is researching the best maintenance options for our ponds & surrounds.

• The Safety Committee is working with the College Place Police in reporting some thefts from front porches on Whimbrel Loop Road. Take your packages in promptly or make arrangements for deliveries in a less obvious place. As always, report any suspicious activity to the police.

• The Strategic Planning Committee has collected research on the rewriting of our documents and on many other issues important to the Villages. Their April report to the Board will be published with the full minutes of the board meeting. Contact anyone on the SPC if you have any questions or want to add your voice.

• Due to the time and research of Michele Wollert, and the assistance of Jim Hall, we now have 224 email addresses on our communications list. That’s over 90% of our homeowners in the Villages!
The Board wishes to thank all the volunteers who give of their time and energy. Many hands not only make light work, they make a great community of neighbors helping neighbors!

College Place may be experiencing a water shortage this summer due to work being done on the city wells. Beginning now, we will be cutting the water usage in our common areas to conserve water and lower our water costs. The Board encourages all homeowners to set their backyard sprinklers to no more than every three days of watering and be vigilant of excess water usages for our family use.

Watch for the full Board Minutes and the March Financial Report on our website soon.

The next Board Meeting — Tentatively Scheduled for May 29, 2:00 p.m., at Son Bridge Community Center.

Board Meeting Summary .. Wednesday 27 March 2019

MPMA Directors .. Dick Cook, John Cress, Marie Evans, Jim Murphy/ARC, Morris Kivett, Marilyn Vogel, Henning Guldhammer

At the recent March MPMA Meeting, Board Members and member-guests took a crash course how to read and understand our VGC financial reports. Jim Hall, our Financial Advisor and Accountant, offered the tutorial. For those who are interested, a copy of the presentation will be included in the official minutes posted online.

The Strategic Planning Committee [Jack Gisler, Dennis Olson, Kurt Carlson, John Cress] has been meeting with focus groups exploring where we are as an Association and what changes, if any, we want to make. Our twenty-year-old covenants and bylaws are being redrafted to reflect recent changes in state law, the exit of our developer declarant, and the fine tuning of our master and phase governance structure and priorities. If you have ideas you want to pass on to the Strategic Planning Committee there are two meetings planned on April 8thand 15th [1:30 to 3:30] at Son Bridge Community Center. All interested members are welcome.

Ray Goff, Common Areas Chair, says we will have our usual road work this summer crack sealing and seal coating just a portion of our roads. Every year we repair some of the roads so that all roads receive maintenance on a regular basis. We’ve had to replace a few street lights this Spring. If you notice that a light in your area is not working, please report the street light number and/or location to Ray Goff ray@amavicellars.com. We are replacing bulbs with new LED fixtures [in Phases 1-2] to give us brighter light and a cheaper cost in operation.

For those who may have noticed, we did have a serious car accident on Garrison Village Way this month. There were no injuries to people, but our landscaping was damaged. We are grateful to our first responders for their quick action and to our landscaping contractor, Ike Muro, for his clean up and damage assessment. We expect the driver’s insurance to cover our repair costs.

ARC is planning on replacing some of our road signs soon and will be putting together a volunteer work party to paint the speed bumps along Garrison Village Way. As part of Strategic Planning, ARC is researching parking issues in the Villages. Comments and ideas should be directed to the Architectural Review Committee, Jim Murphy, Dennis Olson, and Tom Emmerson.

Also, the Board accepted the February Financial Report, approved the Minutes of the February Board Meeting, and approved a reimbursement of $2099.20 to Phase VI for their prorated share of collections and lien dollars returned to MPMA from the delinquent 985 Creekside account.

The next MPMA Board Meeting is scheduled for April 24, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the SonBridge Community Center 1200 SE 12th Street, College Place.
